Enlarged pores (aka ‘open’ pores) occur when your pores have been stretched. Stretching of the pores can occur from excessive oil production, poor skincare products, and extractions.

We understand that enlarged pores can be embarrassing and can make you prone to blackheads and congestion. At City Laser Clinic, we can provide treatments to reduce your pores back to your original size.
Treatment for Enlarged Pores
To treat enlarged pores, we must first identify the possible cause of the enlarged pores. By stopping the cause of the enlarged pores, the pores may reduce on their own. If not, don’t worry, there are a range of treatments to help get them back into shape!
Your treatment options include:
- Q-Switched laser treatments (with or without Carbon) – required every 2 weeks
- CO2 laser treatments – required every 4-6 weeks.
- Vivace Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling – required once a month.
All treatment options provide excellent results and can be combined over the course of your treatments to provide even better results.
We recommend attending our clinic for an initial consultation before starting any treatment. In the consultation, we will review your current skincare routine & suggest any changes that may help you improve your skin’s current condition. Then we will create a treatment plan that will best suit your skin type and condition.
The treatment plan that we choose will depend on your skin type, budget, and availability.
The consultation is free, however we require a $50 deposit to secure all new appointments. This fee is deducted off of your first session or refunded if you are not suitable for treatment or decide not to proceed. Click here to schedule an initial consultation.
How The Technology Works
To reduce enlarged pores, we have a range of treatments that can absorb excess oil and generate new skin tissue to repair existing damage. At City Laser Clinic, we only use medical grade technology to provide the safest and most efficient treatments.
We have chosen the Medlite Q-Switched for its deep-penetrating ability, targeting the cells responsible for increasing skin cell turnover. The results from our Q-Switched laser are slow, however the end result is well worth the wait for natural-looking results. It also offers zero downtime, which makes it a perfect lunch-time treatment.
For faster results, Vivace RF Microneedling and/or Fraxis CO2 Laser treatments are advised. Both of these treatments cause microdamage to the skin, allowing the skin to heal and repair itself. During the skin’s healing period, the skin will tighten itself along with your pores.
Downtime
Carbon Laser Treatment – No downtime, however we do not recommend applying makeup after the treatment to prevent further congestion.
Vivace RF Microneedling – 1 day downtime. Makeup can be applied the next day.
CO2 Laser Treatment – Two weeks downtime.
