Let’s face it – we all want to look our best at any age. Not over-filled and over-stretched, just naturally glowing.
Aging gracefully, beautifully, and elegantly is generally the goal. Inevitably though, fine lines and wrinkles will set in. Thankfully, there is a simple, non-surgical treatment that will address those concerns & have you out to dinner the very same night!
RF Microneedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is fast becoming the treatment of choice for many of our clients. The popularity of the treatment is due to its proven results with minimal downtime. Our device uses insulated micro-needles that are driven directly into the skin at controlled depths. Radiofrequency (RF) energy is then released deep into the skin, targeting the damaged tissue. This results in your body’s own natural production of elastin and collagen fibres, which in turn make the skin firmer and healthier.
What Is ‘Radio Frequency (RF)’?
Radio frequency is an energy that produces heat. This heat is what’s responsible for stimulating your collagen production. When combined with state-of-the-art microneedling, the results are amazing!
In a similar way to HIFU, Radiofrequency helps to tighten and contract your collagen & elastin fibres. Whilst HIFU is superior if your main skin concern is skin laxity (sagging of the skin), HIFU cannot help you with other skin conditions like RF Microneedling can.
What Does RF Microneedling Treat?
Using RF Microneedling, we can treat a range of skin conditions such as:
- Skin Laxity
- Fine Lines and Wrinkles
- Stretch Mark Reduction
- Acne Scarring
- Pore Size Reduction
- Uneven Skin Texture
- Congestion
After just one session, your skin will immediately radiate a glow. It’s the perfect treatment to have a few days prior to a big event.
How Is Vivace Different to Other Forms of Microneedling?
Vivace is FDA cleared & TGA listed and is positioned as the best-in-class microneedling device – combined with RF to deliver an incomparable experience. Opposed to other microneedling devices, Vivace contains a set of 36 insulated, gold-tipped needles ready to deliver results at various levels of penetration. Unlike other devices, Vivace RF Microneedling will not cause any tearing of the skin, no pain, and guaranteed results.
What Areas of The Body Can Be Treated?
RF Microneedling can treat any area of the body and any skin type with very minimal downtime. The most common areas to be treated are the face, neck, decolletage, and back of hands.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Results will vary depending on your current skin condition and what you’d like to achieve. However generally results are normally observed between 3 – 6 treatments, about 1 month apart. During your initial consultation, after assessing your unique skin and specific concerns, we can better advise you how many sessions you will need to achieve your skin health goals. We’ll also be able to answer any questions you have and advise how you can make changes to your own skin routine to achieve faster & long-lasting results.
Is There Any Downtime?
Downtime is minimal with most clients able to return to work the same day. Your skin will appear reddish for 6-24 hours. During this time, you shouldn’t apply makeup to avoid clogging your pores and causing breakouts.
Does it hurt?
We apply numbing cream to the area(s) to be treated about an hour prior to treatment. Because of the numbing cream, clients generally do not feel the procedure. If anything, you may experience a very mild pinch-like sensation during the treatment. Our experienced staff can modify the intensity of the RF energy to ensure any discomfort is kept to a minimum.
Is This Treatment Safe?
Yes, RF Microneedling is safe for all skin types. Our Vivace RF Microneedling device is FDA & TGA approved, indicating that it is clinically safe to use. In conjunction to this, we maintain a sterile environment during RF Microneedling treatments, use insulated needles, and dispose of the needle tip after each treatment.
As our needles are insulated, RF is only exerted at the tip of the needle, when it’s already penetrated in the skin. By using insulated needles, we’re able to treat all skin types as the surface of the skin won’t be affected by the RF. If you have a darker skin type, you won’t have to worry about any post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation after our RF Microneedling treatments.
As with all treatments at City Laser Clinic, our staff are trained and experienced in protocols with such treatments. We also provide LED light therapy after your treatment which is especially useful to avoid cross-contamination and assist with rapid healing.
What Precautions Are Needed Before & After Treatment?
As with all advanced skin treatments, you must avoid exposure to direct sunlight before treatment and for several days after treatment. At City Laser Clinic, our experienced & qualified therapists will advise you, based on your skin type and the nature of the treatments that you are receiving. SPF is advised to be worn for the initial few days after treatment.
We recommend attending an initial consultation prior to starting any skin therapy treatment. In your consultation, our skin therapists will be able to assess your skin and discuss your concerns. We will then advise which treatment options would be most suitable in addressing your specific concerns. To schedule a consultation, you can click here, or call us on (02) 9232 8090.
