We all know we need to stay out of the sun, especially without SPF50+. After constant sun exposure, our skin can develop pigmented spots (freckles/moles), skin cancers, and a condition called Dyschromia.

Dyschromia refers to an uneven skin discolouration resulting in pigment change (loss or increase) caused by an external factor. In addition to sun exposure, it can also arise from skin infections, healed skin injuries (scar tissue), and radiation therapy.
Dyschromia Treatment
In a similar way to Post-Inflammatory Pigmentation, dyschromia can fade on its own over time. There are also some creams that can be beneficial to use on it, or can otherwise be hidden with makeup. However if you wish to get rid of your dyschromia in a faster & more effective manner, we can help.
A course of 8-10 treatments with fortnightly intervals is typically recommended for best results. As with all laser treatments, the frequency & number of treatments depends on your skin type and the affected area.
Please note that a medical clearance is essential before we can commence treatment for Dyschromia.
Technology
We have discovered that our MedLite Q-Switch laser is effective in treating skin blemishes such as Dyschromia. It is because of the functionality the Medlite provides to choose and deliver the wavelength best suited to the depth of the discolouration. The Q-Switch laser delivers strong pulses of light to the dermal (deep) layer of the affected skin. This causes the collagen to regenerate and repair. It will also leave the surface of the skin unaffected, allowing you to return to work straight treatment.
Downtime
No downtime. You may experience mild redness in the area which can last 10-60 minutes.
